While flipping through the premiere issue of Food Network’s new magazine (which if you haven’t grabbed yet you really, really need to get on that) I came across an article talking about how fabulous white serving platters are. They look classy, go with any color of dinnerware and, best of all, they show off the most important aspect of a great meal—the food!

Since my hubby and I were hosting a dinner and wine tasting for 10 I decided it was high time we upgraded our serving platters. This is the result…

From left to right we have our pedestal-like serving platter; perfect for serving cakes and pies (we used it for our pumpkin cheesecake), our deep serving dish which is perfect for salads or vegetables (we served the roasted potatoes in this), the big platter which is perfect for meat or large spreads of fruits, cold cuts etc.(it served our bourbon beef tenderloin in style), our segmented platter for various items (we cheated and served the spiced root vegetables in this and it looked awesome) and in front is the dip tray, as I call it, and is perfect for appetizer time to serve your soft cheeses or dips in.

We got so many compliments during our meal, not only about the food (which was freaking fantastic) but the presentation as well. If you haven’t invested in a good set of serving platters/dishes yet I highly recommend it. Not only will you no longer be scrambling to find a suitable dish to serve your food in but the stunning presentation they create really does add to the whole dinner party experience.
